Congrats on making it through the first quarter of 2025! We’re rounding up our favorites for the past month—there’s less beauty products on this list than usual but March and Ramadan aligned almost exactly this year, and during Ramadan, we pretty much throw all skincare rules right out the window—sunscreen is applied for the first time of the day at 3pm, and retinoids go on at 4-5am. It’s all good! Let’s dive in:
Calypso Studios Gaia Watch: we haven’t shared this much on IG, but we’re very into vintage jewelry/watches and have purchased a few times from Calypso studios because their curation and prices are great, otherwise, we usually go for local, offline sellers. Calypso announced a few months ago they would be launching their own vintage-inspired watch based on a very popular style that can be difficult to find, at least for a good price. It’s 18K gold plated on stainless steel, comes in either a square or oval face, with hand-set and hand-carved stones per link. All for $90. The links are removable (we took one off each end), and the clasp is strong. We have a little watch collection growing, but this is by far the prettiest of the bunch, and it’s brand new, so we won’t have to replace the battery for a while!
Experiment Molecular Mesh Moisturizer: we were debating between Experiment and Sofie Pavitt’s moisturizers for this post since both impressed us since first use but ultimately, Experiment won based on price ($30 for 2oz.) and packaging (aluminum tube). We’ll talk about SP’s in next week’s Sephora sale picks post anyway, but for now, let’s focus on the emollient, elastic emulsion gem that is Molecular Mesh. This is not a classic barrier-supportive blend like many new moisturizer releases, but instead features hydrators like ectoin and glycerin (Experiment is known for their love of glycerin!), soothing ingredients such as Guaiazulene and centella liposomes, and lipid components/precursors: phytosphingosines and phospholipids. There’s a bit of petrolatum, squalane, safflower oil, and hydrogenated castor oil in the blend to thin it out and add further emollience as well, but some dimethicone to keep it very mildly occlusive so as to not completely slip around. All of this combined leads to a stretchy moisturizer that requires much less product than you think to adequately maintain moisture all day. We love it, and think many of you will find it unique, but still familiar to products like Dieux Instant Angel, Phytosurgence’s Verdant Forcefield, and The Ordinary’s NMF + PhytoCeramides.
Renpho Eye Massager: if you suffer from headaches and migraines that develop behind the eyes or along the temples, you may really enjoy this. Even if you don’t suffer from headaches and just want something to make your face feel warm and compressed (in the best way), you’ll enjoy it. We bought ours on Amazon about eight months ago—it’s the same one we featured in our Holiday Gift Guide back in December—and we still use it a few times a week. You get tight, but not intense or painful compression that alternates every few seconds, plus heat and additional pulsation if you want. We go for the heat + regular massage before it times out after about 20 minutes, and it’s a truly wonderful experience lol. I read somewhere on Reddit in a TMJ-help thread that some people find an eye massager helps take tension off their jaw to reduce pain, and I can’t say it takes the pain away entirely for me, but it does help slacken the jaw and definitely improves temple pain radiating from the TMJ. Your mileage will certainly vary with TMJ relief, but for around $60, this massager pulls its weight as a nice relaxation treatment alone.
Otherland Candles: a few months ago, Otherland sent out a survey asking about the most important factors customers consider when deciding if they want to repurchase from their line. We answered “pricing” for almost all the questions. Fast forward to this past month, they announced a 50% permanent reduction in individual candle prices just from reducing packaging on the consumer side. We’re thrilled about this—Otherland’s candles have the best throw in our opinion and some of the most unique and complex scent combinations. At $20 each now, we feel much more comfortable burning through our favorites on a regular basis. We picked up Dessert First and Reverie Roast, two scents we’ve had on our wishlist for a while. Dessert First smells like a fresh cup of chai, while Reverie Roast is a nice bold espresso scent (the cold throw on that one alone is gorgeous). Definitely check these out if you’re looking for cool scents to spruce up your home, or a solid gift idea for a loved one.
La Belle Lune Midnight Orchard Cleansing Balm (TOPSHELFEDIT10 for 10% off): LBL makes our favorite luxe cleansing balms across the board. They’re traditional balms with a rich oil base and a half-melted texture that washes off as a milk, but doesn’t leave the skin feeling stripped of its moisture. They’re definitely on the pricey side, but each jar lasts us over six months (you only need a small amount to melt off makeup and sunscreen), and they provide such an enjoyable sensorial experience to our cleansing routines. We’ll use them as face masks in the shower sometimes as well, adding a drop or two of the Phytosurgence Regenerative Facial Oil and a BHA serum to get some decongesting benefit. Midnight Orchard is the newest fragranced option from LBL and hands-down our favorite so far. While the other balms (Night Bloom and Witching Hour) have earthier, rich, slightly moody scents, Midnight Orchard smells of richly crisp berries, elevated from your typical candy-like or sorbet scents. It’s indulgent, we know, but every time we use these cleansing balms, we hate cleansing a little less. Get a taste for the texture below:
Everlane Utility Wide Leg Pant (on sale for $77 until 3/31): we bought these pants in Bone and Navy back in 2020—they had wider leg openings and more of a cropped fit back then—and then repurchased the same colors in 2025 (not because they didn’t last or anything, we just had to size up lol!). The current version of the pants are fuller length on our petite frames (we’re both around 5’1”) so the 28.5” inseam hits us at full length now, and because the leg is less wide than before, it works great with a sneaker, loafer, heel, boot, you name it. It also has a nice high waist that gives the illusion of more height. We love these pants for the thick, sturdy, material (98% cotton, 2% elastane, but they don’t have much stretch in our opinion), as they keep shape well. Everlane makes some of our favorite basic jeans and pants overall, but this is our favorite style they’ve come out with in a while.
Motif Abundance Plumping Phytoceramide Cleanser (THETOPSHELFEDIT15 for 15% off) we can’t stop using this cream cleanser + super gentle scrub + in-shower mask. It’s smells faintly of real rose with very sparse microcrystalline cellulose granules and larger bits of luffa fruit powder. There’s also kaolin clay, bromelain (pineapple enzyme), and plenty of antioxidant-rich botanical extracts packed in here as well so you get a little extra treatment for the skin after wash-off. It’s just super comfortable to use in the morning as a nice moisturizing/exfoliating mask, or in the evening as a luxury cream cleanser/exfoliant. We don’t usually recommend a product with granules for regular use as a cleanser, but this is quite gentle on the skin with large granules housed in a very creamy base that conveniently prevents it from irritating skin. A unique option for sure!
SeaVees Calista Clog: okay, this is not going to be a everyone’s cup of tea but Sarah is obsessed with these shoes. They’re rubber clogs with a thick, heavy base and comfortable removable sponge interior. If you’re in healthcare, food service, outdoor work of any kind, or just want a comfy slip-on clog that can be wiped down/washed, this is a super solid shoe. They run pretty big so definitely size down if you’re between sizes, but otherwise, I can wear these for hours in the hospital without soreness (comparable to my typical New Balances, but less comfy than On Cloud’s or Asic’s imo). I bought them for hospital-only wear, but anytime I’m running out for a quick errand, I reach for these. They’re decidedly not cute shoes, but compared to most clogs, they’re sleek, with minimal branding and a slim fit. They’re ugly-cute, and that’s totally okay.
Beauty of Joseon Aqua-Sun Relief Sunscreen (SHOPSHELF for 10% off at Stylevana): we haven’t talked about this one in a while, but we already know it will be our sunscreen pick for the summer. You get a nice airy lotion texture here, but it’s not super fluid and drippy, either. The finish is skin-like, natural, and non-shiny—almost velvety, but not quite like our other favorite K-beauty sunscreen, the Haru Haru Wonder Black Rice SPF. There’s zero cast and it just melts right into the skin, playing well with other skincare products and makeup.
Kulfi Beauty Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil (wait for the Sephora sale in early April to purchase!): these are some of the most unique and well worth-it lip products at Sephora in our opinion. You get the glossy, non-sticky, comfortable feel of a lip oil combined with intense pigment (can be sheered out though) that stains lips as the product fades throughout the day. If you’re not one to reapply a lip product during the day, or you’re like us where you start off with a pigmented lip product and just reapply balms as needed, you’ll love this. The color selection is also quite nice—covers all our bases for lip stain options. We have two shades currently (Caramel and Tamarind) and have Fig on the way.
Now for some food and media favorites of the month:
Daredevil Born Again: the original Daredevil is one of our favorite TV shows of all time—we were big Marvel fans, less so nowadays. We had high expectations for the revamped show and did not think Disney would capture the grit and intensity that Netflix had previously, but they’ve done a pretty good job so far with building up from previous story lines while introducing a ton of new players in a well-paced fashion. It’s quite a violent show, as a heads up, and you should definitely watch the original Daredevil before starting this one, but we’re fully into it, especially now that Severance is over and we have nothing to debate theories about in our free time lol.
Chobani Flip Blueberry Lemon Bar Yogurt: Safiyah is fully obsessed with this yogurt, plus we’re still loving the Chobani protein drinks from last month’s roundup. We promise we’re not sponsored by Big Yogurt, we just finally found some that we like lol.
We tried a ton of recipes this Ramadan and had planned to shoot a food diary for the month, but forgot for the first week and then the motivation kind of died down after that, but there were two standout appetizers that we have to share with you, both featuring puff pastry: lahmacun pinwheels and spicy, Pakistani-style shredded chicken pockets:
That’s about it for March, we hope you enjoyed this roundup. See you in next week’s post in preparation for Spring sale season :)
I love reading about your favorites for both skincare and non-skincare ❤️ I am too, chobani's number one fan! I need to try this flavour. I love the honey regular one and the chocolate almond flip.
